Sport Performance Consultant

Wynne Lacey, MA, LPC, CPC, SPC

Wynne is an experienced therapist and Sport Performance Consultant who enjoys focusing on performers and athletes who depend on their outward appearance to be successful. I have worked along teams through 6 national and world championships here in the Chicago-land area (Bulls, Blackhawks and White Sox), and very much understand the pressures of achieving at a high level and how to navigate them.

My name is Wynne Lacey, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to provide you with guidance with Sport Psychology and Performance Improvement and/or other personal challenges that are getting in the way of your goal achievement. I partner with individuals (ages 8 and older), as both a performance and sports therapist and professional coach.

I enjoy focusing on where performers and athletes depend on their outward appearance to be successful. I have worked along teams through 6 national and world championships here in the Chicago-land area (Bulls, Blackhawks and White Sox), and very much understand the pressures of achieving at a high level and how to navigate them.

I have also written a book called “The Enlightened Cheerleader,” addressing the notion that you are mostly recognized for being the outer envelope, while the beauty and truth are what is inside. In my book, I share strategies on how to get in better touch with yourself, your true identity and what is really inside your envelope.

My objective is to meet clients where the are and address a myriad of life challenges to improve my clients’ well-being and fulfillment. My clients’ challenges range from feeling overwhelming anxiety and depression, relationship issues, low self-esteem, and performance and psychology. I utilize and integrate a variety of therapeutic and professional coaching modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Reality Therapy, Choice Theory, Client-Centered, and Strengths-Based approaches.

I first learned and practiced in the mental wellness field with the employees of my sports entertainment business to offset the pressures of performing in the public eye. Now outside of the sports arena, I make it a priority to share a variety of mental health practices with others, no matter where they are on their wellness journey.

How does it work to be both a therapist and coach? I compare it to my life in sports. As a seasoned coach, I understand how to empower a person to drive towards their peak performance. But I can also recognize when an injured athlete is limping off the field so they can nurse themselves back to health. Sometimes an injury is chronic and needs long-term care; other times it’s just a pulled muscle that needs some quick TLC.

Because I am a coach at heart, when we first meet I most likely will believe in you more than you believe in yourself. I see that as my purpose in life; to hold a happy, peaceful, and successful version of you in my mind until you walk away with that same vision or something even better!

I look forward to partner with you in your journey to greater mental wellness, life direction and personal contentment!
