Courtney (she, her, hers) is a Licensed Social Worker specializing in the concerns of children and adolescents. She has experience working with clients who struggle with trauma, attachment, emotional regulation, anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Courtney also works with women seeking support for perinatal mental health concerns.
Courtney takes a client-led approach to therapy, believing strongly that every client has their own unique story, perspective and challenges. Courtney will meet her clients where they are in their journey and understands that there is not one single path that works for everyone. She considers her client’s goals, needs, external circumstances and barriers as she works with them; understanding that the world that we live in has an enormous impact on wellness.
Courtney incorporates a biopsychosocial approach to therapy; including neuroscientific and strengths-based modalities when working with clients. Courtney also recognizes that many children and adolescents thrive in a play-based environment, and welcomes incorporating the tools that allow them to feel safe and comfortable in every therapy session. She recognizes that trust is the most important facet of the therapeutic relationship. She uses a trauma-informed and culturally conscious lens when working with all her clients.
Courtney previously worked as an Early Childhood Educator and a community mental health therapist. She grew up in Naperville, attended North Central College and has spent her career working within the Naperville community. She is committed to continuing that community work while working at Grow.
