My name is Julie and I am a Licensed Social Worker and a Licensed School Social Worker. For many years, I have had the lovely opportunity to support and empower children and their families from diverse backgrounds including within the school environment.

I have experience working with children, adolescents, and their families faced with a wide variety of life challenges. I specialize in working with children experiencing stress, trauma, behavioral difficulties, school-related issues, social & emotional struggles, grief & loss, and family conflict & transitions such as divorce and separation. I also help children navigate challenges related to their diagnosis of ADHD, ASD, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and developmental delay.

With a passion for helping children grow and thrive, I create a nurturing, supportive, and safe environment where children can express their thoughts, emotions, and concerns. My warm, friendly, and empathetic nature helps children feel comfortable and understood resulting in a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust.

With a deep understanding of child development, behavioral issues, and mental health concerns, I tailor my therapeutic interventions to meet each child’s unique needs. I use evidence-based practices, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, play therapy, mindfulness approaches, and trauma-focused interventions. Through creative play, art therapy, and hands-on activities, children are able to explore their feelings, develop problem-solving skills, and enhance their self-esteem. I also teach a wide-variety of other essential skills such as coping skills, social skills, self-regulation skills, conflict resolution skills, while also incorporating growth mindset and mindfulness activities.

Through active listening and gentle guidance, I assist children in navigating challenges, building resilience, and developing healthy coping strategies. I strive to create a supportive space where children can freely express themselves and gain a deeper understanding of their emotions. My ultimate goal is to empower children to overcome their hardships, enhance their self-confidence, and equip them with the necessary skills to handle life’s obstacles!
