Meagan is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor serving the Chicagoland area through telehealth therapy. I have experience as a therapist in groups and individual settings with all age groups from toddler to elderly, including: anxiety, depression, couples work, life transitions, behavioral and family therapy with children on the autism spectrum and expectant grief counseling. Prior to returning to school I received a Masters in Divinity (MDiv) and became a pastor in 2009. Serving congregations all over the Chicagoland area from as far south as Tinley Park to the western regions of Aurora and throughout the city I met and worked with an array of populations and in a variety of settings. These experiences along with living in Eastern Europe in the early 2000s shaped my approach to counseling and working with clients. Each person I met is unique and has their own story. I am a counselor because I want to help people rebuild their lives when their world no longer makes sense, help people discover new ways of solving life problems, to help people repair the hard and broken places in their hearts, and to help them improve the important relationships in their lives.
While I draw from many counseling methods to help people change their lives, I primarily focus on family systems and use CBT and DBT among other approaches to help the client build tools. For those who are interested, I am able to offer a spiritual focus to the session and can provide pastoral counseling for those seeking a religious approach to their therapy.
