Grow Wellness Group will be continuing our focus on grief and loss issues that could not be more relevant today. We will be discussing Grief & Loss related challenges – providing clinical psychoeducation on the process, welcoming guests who have gone through significant Grief & Loss, while offering expert guidance on coping, healing and restoration.
During this period in particular, loss and grieving is something far too familiar; that many of us face daily during COVID. We have all lost something, and there is a restoration process that inevitably must follow. We know and accept that the loss of a loved one leads to grieving in various forms.
HOWEVER, we often are either completely unaware or not wanting to accept that we need grieving or restoration of sorts as we often consciously or subconsciously believe that feeling is misplaced. If your dreams were crushed unexpectedly, your grieving process generally involves 3 choices: 1. Allow yourself to feel and process your emotions so you can regain your sense of self, while enhancing your own resilience, 2. Detach and rely on unhealthy coping sources to minimize any emotion at all and become disconnected from yourself and your own pursuit of contentment, 3. Move forward in a manner you view as constructive while not acknowledging the reality of inner pain. This will only lead to loss of a sense of self and one’s resilience going forward.
Lastly, we touch on the benefits of grief counseling and therapy – especially here in Naperville. Grief counseling can be a tremendous way to expedite the grieving process in a safe environment with experts who can guide you on your journey. Our grief & loss clinicians are eager to walk along side you on your journey toward healing and restoration!
